Table Tennis Equipment Recommender

Welcome! Find the perfect table tennis blade and rubbers tailored to your playing style and budget.

⚠️ IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER ⚠️
The ONLY time I'm recommending something as fast as a Viscaria to a beginner is for those players who are planning on SERIOUS training / rapid improvement. This means:
  • Consistently training several days per week
  • Solid technique
  • Working with a coach (or very strong practice partner)
If you're a beginner and this is not you, even if you ARE planning on improving / playing competitively, you're better off starting with a slower piece of wood.
In other words, if this isn't you and you're a beginner, I recommend NOT answering "I just want the best" to the first question about being on a budget! In the same vein, if you're a beginner / intermediate who IS playing on serious training / rapid improvement, you are the exception, not the rule, and along with the blade could potentially get away with using higher end rubbers than what is recommended from the get go.

Please don't take this as some set-in-stone law of what you must get. What I can PROMISE, however, is that these selections are solid. They'll support your development without holding you back. If you just need someone to pick for you, you can use this, get something, and never have to think about equipment again for a long time. You can have peace of mind knowing that your setup is good, and then you can go back to focusing on more important parts of your game.

If you do decide you want to go with something else, know that whatever you play with will be fine as long as you're comfortable with it, it's decent quality, and appropriate for your playing style. For example, if my recommendation says Vega Asia, but you instead want to try Omega 5 Asia, or Vega Pro, or something else entirely, go for it! Likewise, if my recommendation says Viscaria, but you'd prefer Super ALC for the speed, or an Innerforce for the woody feel / more feedback, or something else entirely, go for it! There's no need to overthink!

Additional note: You can freely mix and match recommended blades and rubbers from any budget category as long as they suit your playing style. For example, you can opt for a super budget blade paired with non budget rubbers.
